A collection of Chinese landscape paintings entitled "Central Academy of Fine Arts – Jia Youfu Arts Studio 4th National Tour of Excellent Teacher and Student art works" is on display at Zhangjiagang Art Gallery from April 26 to May 8.
The exhibition is held in honor of one of the forefathers of modern Chinese landscape painting, Jia Youfu.
Jia is professor as well as doctoral supervisor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA). As a painter, art educator and theorist, he is a leader in the field of Chinese landscape painting. With more than 50 years spent devoted to arts, he developed his distinctive and magnificent painting style. Jia is frequently referred to as the third pioneering painter, after Huang Binghong and Li Keran, that has made outstanding contributions to the development of Chinese landscape painting.
The exhibition has more than 180 painting works created by 40 Chinese landscape painting masters on display.
