Zhangjiagang has aced its way through another successful International Tennis Federation (ITF) Men's circuit stage, hosting the event for the fifth straight year this year from April 2 to 10.
After nine days of hard-fought rallying, Chinese Taipei's Wang Yuzuo took home the winner's trophy as well as netting 23,000 yuan ($3,555) in prize money, ahead of South Korea's Lee Duck-hee. Chinese Taipei's Xie Zhengpeng and Peng Xianyi took home the Men's Doubles title.
Co-organized by the ITF, Chinese Tennis Association, Jiangsu Sports Bureau and Zhangjiagang government, the competition is rising in status with an increased prize pot of $25,000 as well greater rankings and points.
To promote tennis, the organizer also launched drawing competitions among the city's primary schools themed "Tennis in my eyes", which received active participation.
