The sixth Yangtze River Drama Festival is set to take place in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu province, on Oct 31, with some dramas making their debut in the Poly Theatre and Yonglian Cultural Center.

The event will run through Nov 11 and is a part of the 2014 China (Zhangjiagang) Yangtze River Culture and Art Festival, which will start on Nov 1. A total of nine drama performances will make the festival a fabulous drama gala. The performances will feature different dramas in the Yangtze River area, such as Wuxi opera, Hunan opera, Sichuan opera and Kunqu opera. All the shows depict the special drama culture of the region.

During the festival, an art troupe will also be invited to stage performances around towns and villages to entertain rural residents.
