A fitness campaign was held simultaneously in over 60 cities and counties of Jiangsu province on June 8. The city of Zhangjiagang launched the opening ceremony at Shazhou Lake Square. Government leaders and more than 6,000 citizens attended the ceremony.

During the fitness campaign that highlighted fitness trails, Zhangjiagang citizens jogged, walked, roller-skated and cycled along the green fitness trail around Shazhou Lake, enjoying the lake scenery and promoting physical well-being.

In recent years, Zhangjiagang has intensified efforts to promote public fitness. It has built a comprehensive public fitness system in rural and urban areas. In 2013, the city built 143 kilometers of fitness trails, which were warmly welcomed by locals.
