A Zhangjiagang family reading event opened at the children’s library in Zhangjiagang of Jiangsu province on October 26, 2013.

Famous family reading promoter Yi Fu gave a lecture about picture books, outlining ways for parents to read to kids. Ji Zhaohua, an experienced illustrator, gave a lecture themed on how “painting changes children’s lives.” A play adapted from a children’s book was staged at the Zhangjiagang culture center.

The event aims to help parents better understand how to read to kids and teach children the fun of reading.
