Wuxi erhu makers strike right note in Shanghai

Wuxi's most famouserhumakers have decided to band together, and this harmonious approach is helping them win applause at the 2017 Music China fair in Shanghai.
Meicun town in Wuxi is famous as the home of theerhu, the traditional Chinese musical instrument often referred to as the "Chinese fiddle".
The town'serhumakers account for nearly 25 percent of China's entire erhu market, and companies such as Gu Yue and Guang Guo are famous nationwide.
But the former rivals have decided that they can play sweeter music as an ensemble.
For this year's Music China, one of the world's largest musical instruments fairs, more than 10 Meicunerhumakers decided to exhibit as a group under the slogan "melodious music in Wu culture".
The former Wuxi New District, now known as Wuxi Xinwu district or Wuxi National Hi-tech district, was founded in 1992 and underwent administrative changes in 1995, 2002 and 2005.
