100,000 passengers fly through Sunan airport during Golden Week

Sunan Shuofang International Airport handled 105,900 passengers during the National Day holiday, an increase of 16.3 percent over the same period last year.
Some 854 take-offs and landings were recorded during the seven-day holiday, an increase of 17.3 percent year-on-year. With an 80 percent passenger occupancy rate, 82.8 percent of flights took-off on schedule.
The airport located in Shuofang sub-district of Wuxi New District (WND) is now co-owned by the governments of Wuxi, Suzhou, and Jiangsu province. In 2015, it handled 4,609,344 passengers, making it the 42nd busiest airport in China.

The former Wuxi New District, now known as Wuxi Xinwu district or Wuxi National Hi-tech district, was founded in 1992 and underwent administrative changes in 1995, 2002 and 2005.
