The photovoltaic industry in Wuxi saw over 60 billion yuan ($9.68 billion) in operating revenue in 2011. Its manufacturing technology and output value ranked first in China and took the lead in the world.

The industry has formed a complete industrial chain in Wuxi New District and leads the country in technologies. The conversion rate of silicon cell modules has reached 18.5 percent.
