At the event, Shi Wenming, chief engineer of the Metro Line 3 construction project, showed visitors the advanced technology engineers are using on the project.
According to Shi, he can monitor the latest progress on construction from anywhere using his smartphone.
There are seven monitors installed at the entrances and other important points in Huanghan Road station, one of the new stations under construction, which can upload real-time videos to the cloud, Shi explained.
"We can monitor the construction process at all times and rectify any wrong steps to ensure high-quality production," said Shi.
The monitoring system has previously been used on projects to build Wuxi's first and second metro lines, and is now being applied all along Line 3.
The VR security experience hall located in Huangshan Road station also helps construction workers on the project deal with any emergencies.
They can put on VR equipment to experience the accident scene such as fire and falling objects. This helps raise workers' awareness of risks and improve their ability to properly recognize and prevent risks during the project.
