Developed around 4,000 B.C., traditional Chinese painting has then continued its course for thousands of years until today. No doubt it has grown to reflect the change of times to a certain extent.

Taicang began hosted an exhibition in its Songwenzhi Art Gallery between April 8 and May 25 to showcase the original ink artwork created by celebrated artists native to the south of the Yangtze River area. Over 60 selected works will be exhibited.

The art show is entitled "Jiangnan Ink" and designed to display artistic pieces from famous artists in Jaingsu and Zhejiang provinces as well as Shanghai. [Photo provided to China Daily]
