Ink plum blossom was painted onto white cheongsam at a cultural exhibition in Nanjing on July 8.
Tang Yong, a China First-level Chinese artist drew plum blossom - the city flower of Nanjing - onto a number of traditional cheongsam dresses.
Cheongsam dresses fall tightly against the contours of the body, highlighting female slenderness and beauty. The depiction of plum blossom perfuming in winter is a symbol of lofty and respectable personality.
The fusion of cheongsam, plum blossom and ink painting is a combination of traditional Chinese culture. Plum cheongsam conforms to current aesthetics of beauty and uniqueness according to Tang, who added that he hoped the activity would attract more young fans to traditional Chinese culture.
The cultural exhibition at Nanjing Deji Plaza is being held simultaneously to activities at Expo Milano 2015 Nanjing Week - which runs from July 7 to 13 in Italy and is a cultural promotion for the capital of Jiangsu province.
