A new express subway, between Suzhou New District and Huaqiao International Service Business Park in Kunshan, will start construction at the end of the next year, according to a work conference on May 28.
The total length of the subway line will reach 71.3 kilometers with 33 stations. About 36-km, or 20 stations, will be in Kunshan, according to the design.
After construction, it will take only ten minutes from the Yushan Square Station in Kunshan's downtown area to travel to Yangcheng Lake Station.
In addition, people will be able to take the subway from the Yushan Square Station to the Huaqiao Station with 25 minutes, transfer to Shanghai Metro Line 11 and get to Anting Station after 40 minutes, effectively linking Suzhou, Kunshan and Shanghai.
This project will not only bring closer regional ties, but also change the way to travel, said insiders.
