Qiandeng, a water town in Kunshan, Jiangsu province, has been authorized by the organizing committee of the 2014 Nanjing Youth Olympic Games (YOG) as one of its official tourist attractions as well as the only town in Kunshan that is allowed to sell licensed souvenirs of the games.
The 2014 Nanjing Youth Olympic Games is being held in Nanjing from Aug 16 to 28, and will receive 6,000 players, journalists and officials from home and abroad. It is expected to attract hundreds of thousands of visitors, who will certainly boost the tourism development of local and neighboring cities.
There are a total of 28 official tourist attractions for the Nanjing Youth Olympic Games in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui provinces as well as Shanghai. Kunshan is close to Nanjing and Shanghai and enjoys convenient transportation.
Qiandeng has well prepared itself for the reception of visitors, by improving its public services, security and emergency response. The souvenir shop has been opened to the public. Qiandeng is welcoming visitors from both home and abroad to enjoy the water town's scenery and folk customs.
