The 2014 Cross-Straits Mid-Autumn Lantern Festival is set to take place from September 5 to 21. The preparation work is already in full swing.
A board has been set up at the city square to countdown to the lantern festival. According the tourism bureau, this year's festival will have six main activities, including an innovative lantern contest, photography competition, online activity, riddle guessing, mobile photography and cross-Straits activity.
The innovative lantern contest is underway, aiming to select 50 creative lanterns and display them during the festival. The photography competition also has begun inviting 100 photography enthusiasts from local and neighboring cities to catch the gorgeous moment with their lenses.
The online activity encourages netizens to light virtual lamps and send wishes via the Internet. The mobile photography will provide WeChat printers that connect cellphones with printers through networks to allow citizens to print pictures from mobile phones.
The festival will also invite travel lovers both from Taiwan and Kunshan to tour around Kunshan, take photos and enjoy the great festival together.
