A summer art festival themed on “Colorful Jiuyuan” opened in Baotou’s Jiuyuan district on July 3, and will run from May to the end of September.

The art festival is in honor of the Party’s 96th anniversary and the 70th anniversary of the founding of Inner Mongolia autonomous region, as well as to welcome the upcoming 19th National Party Congress of China in the autumn.

The five-month festival will feature more than 30 activities including art performances, painting, calligraphy, tourism promotion, film shows, intangible cultural heritage exhibitions, folk activities and lectures.
