The city of Baotou recently publicized its industrial development plan for the 13th Five-year Plan (2016-20), a sign of city's desire to build six industrial bases and two centers for economic development. The bases will deal with rare earth materials, equipment manufacturing, new metallurgy, clean energy power generation, new coal chemicals, and green agricultural and animal product processing, while the two centers will handle emerging industrial innovation and producer services.
