The city of Baotou's national fitness center, in Inner Mongolia, has announced on Dec 29 that it will be holding its first recreational sports meeting in the coming year in hopes of encouraging the public to get involved in recreational sports as a warm-up for the 2020 World Recreational Sports Meeting in Beijing.

The center says that the sports will involve hiking, fishing, card games, swimming in the Yellow River, bicycling, and camping, and that these are sure to ignite a passion among Baotou people for exercise.
