"Everything is under discussion now," said Lu.
According to a company press conference in June 2011, the skyscraper with total floor space of 300,000 square meters and an investment of 5-billion-yuan ($750 million) is expected to contain luxury hotel suites, office space, high-end stores and apartments.

Modern high-rise buildings originated from the US and became a global phenomenon. The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) says that 10 years ago there were 286 buildings in the world standing at over 200 meters tall, but now there are 634.
They are located in 32 countries; 403 are in Asia, accounting for 63 percent of the total. Bahrain, Dubai, Indonesia, Kuwait, Qatar and Vietnam are active markets. The busiest market is China, rising to an average height (421 m) for the top 10 tallest buildings in the nation, which is much higher than in any other country.
The country accounts for about a third of the 634 high-rise buildings standing in the world at above 200 meters tall. The US accounts for about a quarter, while India is just 0.3 percent of the total.
