Chen Xiaohua holds talks with Argentinean Vice President

On Aug 24, CGGC International General Manager Chen Xiaohua and Argentinean Vice President Boudou held talks in Beijing Diaoyutai State Guesthouse. The both sides agreed that they will fully deepen the friendly and cooperative relationship between the Argentinean government and CGGC in the field of infrastructure construction and investment in Argentina, starting with the project of Nestor Kirchner-Jorge Cepernic Hydropower Project on the Santa Cruz river in Argentina.

Boudou, the vice president of Argentina, expressed his congratulations to CGGC for winning the hydropower project. He indicated that the hydropower station was of great important to the national economy and the people’s livelihood of Argentina and was a milestone in the development history of the Sino-Argentinean relationship. The Argentinean government will provide CGGC with full support and convenience for carrying out related work smoothly, and eagerly look forward to and remain very confident in the performance of CGGC on the project.

Mr Chen briefly introduced CGGC’s general situation, history, business and development, especially the development of the firm in Latin America, to the vice president. He expressed his thanks to the vice president for the care of and trust to CGGC. Also, he said that CGGC would live up to the expectations of the Argentinean people and strictly control the construction period, quality and costs by relying on its excellent management and state-of-the-art technologies so as to fulfill the contract successfully.

During the meeting, the both sides agreed that the hydropower project was merely a start and vowed to take the opportunity to cooperate with each other in more extensive fields in an all-around and in-depth way.

Located in Santa Cruz province in southern Argentina and with an installed capacity of 1,740MW, the project is not only a national key project of Argentina, but also the largest overseas project that Chinese firms undertakes. CGGC won the project contract from the Argentinean government on August 21 local time.
