Due to the aging water supply facilities and mis-management, Ghana's capital Accra is facing severe shortage of water. A $270-million loan facility financed by the Export-Import Bank of China was carried out on June, 2011 for the expansion works at the Kpong Water Project.
This project will ensure an additional supply of 20,000 tons of water daily to Accra and its environs and contribute a lot to help Ghana to achieve the Millennium Development Goals .(Xinhua/Shao Haijun)
