CGGC wins the bid for the Siwera Sewage Treatment Project in Iraq

On Oct 21 witnessed the signing of the agreement on the CGGC-undertaken Siwera Sewage Treatment Project in Baghdad, Iraq, marking the beginning of the construction of the project.

Minister Adel of Municipal and Public Engineering of Iraq, Chinese ambassador to Iraq Ni Jian, commercial counselor Shou Hailong and relevant persons in charge of CGGC International attended the signing ceremony.

It is reported that, the Siwera Sewage Treatment Project involves a contract value of $126.6 million, invested by the Iraqi government. The project client is the Ministry of Municipal and Public Engineering of Iraq. The project is located in Siwera, Wassit Province of Iraq, about 75km from Baghdad. This general contract project includes the construction of a 348 kilometers rainwater and domestic sewage drainage pipe network, 14 lift pump stations and one sewage treatment plant with a capacity of 30,000 tons in a construction period of 1,065 days (35 months), and a maintenance period of 12 months.
