On May 27, the steel trestle dock undertaken by CGGC in Cabinda, Angola was successfully tested.
Witnessed by Minister of Transport, governor of Cabinda province, other Angolan governmental officials and representatives of CGGC, and with applauses and flashlights, Saloos, a seagoing vessel carrying 101 containers from Pointe-Noire of the Republic of Congo unloaded the first container to the steel pontoon, marking that local people were not depend on Pointe-Noire at hundred miles away for shipping at more.

The project received extensive concern from the local government and the public since its commencement. ANGOP said that the project turned a new page of port economy in Cabinda, and would provide large cargo ships with safer and more convenient berth and loading/unloading conditions. CGGC won wide recognition for the sound site management, good project image and excellent construction quality. Jornal de Angola, the most important newspaper of the country, reported the test run on its front page.

Cabinda Port is a traditional marine cargo distribution center sitting in the south bay of Cabinda Province of Angola. The steel trestle dock undertaken by CGGC is composed of the shore approach, steel trestle, piers, steel approach span, and steel pontoon. Commercial operation of the dock would remarkably relieve the delays in Angolan ports, pull down the high prices of life necessities and building materials, involve in logistics between Pointe-Noire and south of the Republic of Congo and boost local trades.
