Road 1C stretches 254 kilometers from Pakmong, Luang prabang Province to Phoulao, Houaphan Province. The 7m-wide road surface is paved with double layers of asphalt. The 4-year project is designated as a key project in Laos’ 7th Five-year Economic-socio Development Plan.

Road 1C is a main branch route that connects the northern part of the country to No.13 and No.6 national trunk roads, and the only provincial artery route connecting the northwest Luang prabang Province to the southeast Houaphan Province.

It starts from Pakmong and runs northwestward to China. When completed, the project will play an essential role in promoting the economic development of Luang prabang Province, Laos’ traditional tourist destination, and Houaphan Province, as well as in strengthening trade ties with China.
