On June 18, the main dam of CGGC Tatay Hydropower Plant in Cambodia reached the height of 170 meters, setting a new record for similar projects in Southeast Asia. Tatay Hydropower Co sent a message to CGGC to express its congratulation and praise for CGGC realizing the flood control goal of the main dam.
Located on the Tatay River in Koh Kong, Combodia, Tatay Hydropower Plant is a diversion type power station, with the total capacity of 246,000 kilowatts. Main construction includes the concrete face rock-fill dam, the three-hole shore spillway on the left bank of the tributary, the water diversion and power generation system on the left bank of the main stream, and plants on the banks. The construction is expected to take 48 months.
Thanks to the reasonable allocation of resources of CGGC and constant efforts of all the participating staff since the start of the construction, CGGC has managed to overcome various difficulties and challenges such as the early coming of the rainy season.
On June 18, 2011, before the main flood season, the main dam reached the height of EL 170, safe for flood control. So in the second year of the project construction, the company managed to realize the flood control goal of the main dam. It is also worth mentioning that it managed to fill in over 400,000m³ of earth within five months. So far, a total of over 2.7 million m³ of earth has been filled in the dam. According to the results of tests and experiments conducted, the quality of the project met the design criteria, setting a new record for similar projects in Southeast Asia.
