Zhang Jun, general manager of CGGC Nigeria branch and Mohammed Bello, chairman of NRC Board, are at contract signing ceremony.

The eastern mainline railway of Nigeria lies in the northeastern part of the country. It traverses two prosperous states Kaduna and Benue with a total length of 553 kilometers. CGGC is responsible for the restoration and reconstruction of roadbeds, sleepers, tracks and signal facilities, as well as the restoration and rebuild of culverts, bridges and drainage facilities along the lines.

CGGC has contracted to build many important projects in the area of infrastructure such as municipal engineering, port and waterway and housing projects in Nigeria since the 1990s. It has made positive contributions to the economic development of Nigeria.

It's known that this railway has been out of repair for many years, and has restricted the local logistics transportation and economic development. As one of the key projects in the 2020 Nigeria’s national traffic planning, the eastern mainline railway connects the heavy industrial area to agriculture area in eastern Nigeria. Therefore, this project will improve Nigeria's traffic condition and greatly enhance its interior transport capacity. It will play an important role in boosting Nigeria's national economy.
