Ceremony held for the full operation of Shwegyin Hydropower Station in Myanmar

At 9 o'clock am, Oct 22, a ceremony was held on site to celebrate the combining to grid of the Shwegyin Hydropower Station in Myanmar which is contracted by CGGC. Government officials of Myanmar and other relevant people attended the ceremony.

Inauguration ceremony of Shwegin Hydropower Station

Relevant officials of Myanmar visited the building of the hydropower station and inspected the operation of the system in the control room. They were satisfied with the situation.

The inauguration of Shwegyin Hydropower Station attracted great attention from the Myanmar government and the general public. The ceremony was fully covered by various media agencies such as Xinhua Daily, Myanmar News, Myanmar TV, etc.

Located 6 kilometers northeast of Shwegyin, Pegu Division, Shwegyin Hydropower Station has a total installed capacity of 75MW. It is equipped with four generator units consisting of vertical shaft mixed-flow turbines and vertical shaft suspended type three phase salient pole synchronous generator. CGGC won the project in September 2007 and worked as designer of electromechanical devices, supplier and technical director.

Shwegyin Hydropower Station’s first generator unit was put into use in December 2010. Today, all the four units have been successfully combined to the grid for commercial operation with a total output of 360 million KWH. The Hydropower Station is playing a significant role in helping power supply in regions of Myanmar.
