CGGC signs cooperation agreement with Indonesian Government and enterprises

On March 8 and 9, China Gezhouba Group Co signed in Beijing a cooperation agreement on the infrastructure project with Indonesian Bappenas (the National Development Planning Agency), West Sulawesi provincial government and Indonesia’s National Power Company.

Government officials, such as Dedy Supriadi Priatna, the deputy head of the Bappenas, and Anwar Adnan Saleh, governor of the West Sulawesi province, attended the signing ceremony and inspected the Company. Ding Yanzhang, president of the Company, and Nie Kai, vice president of the Company, received guests in Yichang and Beijing respectively.

According to the agreement, the contracting parties will conduct further cooperation in fields like hydraulic development, highway and port construction in West Sulawesi province. The cooperation projects will play a vital role in promoting the economic developing and improving people’s well-being in West Sulawesi province in particular and in the whole country in general.

Before the signing ceremony, Vice President Nie Kai met Dedy, Anwar Adnan Saleh and other officials. He said that CGGC, as a large-scale SOE in China and one of the top 100 among 225 international contractors, has always tried to build excellent projects and provide quality products and services to peoples in Asian, African and Latin American countries, with its first-rate techniques, professional expertise and the ideal of common development.

Ding Yanzhang received Anwar Adnan Saleh and other officials in Yichang. When visiting the Enterprise Culture Corridor, he said the CGGC got its name because it solely undertook the Gezhouba Project which is the first dam along the Yangtze River. In its four decades’ development, it has been supported by all Party and government leaders. Boasting the top-level techniques, equipment and personnel, it has undertaken a series of world-level hydropower projects, such as the Three Georges Project as well as Shuibuya, Jinping and Geheyan projects, and it ranks first in the industry in terms of construction technique and management. Besides, it also has outstanding performance in fields like investment and real estate development. Mr Ding expressed the CGGC’s willingness to contribute to the economic development of all countries including Indonesia.

Dedy and Anwar Adnan Saleh expressed their hope that CGGC can participate in the infrastructure construction in Indonesia so as to bring more benefits to local residents. The Indonesian officials also inspected the Three Georges Project undertaken by the Company.

As the largest and the most important member state of ASEAN, Indonesia has widely cooperated with China in such fields as energy, transportation and so on. As early as in 2006, CGGC has taken part in constructing Asahan Hydropower Station in Indonesia, laying a sound foundation for more cooperation between the two sides.
