The Three Gorges Dam, the world's largest hydropower project, reported a record 1.45 million tourist arrivals last year, a local tourism company said on Tuesday.

Xu Ting, assistant manager of the marketing department of the Yangtze River Three Gorges Tourism Development Co, said the figure was 26 percent higher than in 2009.

Cruise ships brought 860,000 tourist arrivals, an annual increase of about 40 percent, Xu said.
