Kunshan won nine awards at the Suzhou Scientific and Technological Awards, according to the Suzhou science and technology bureau on Jan 13.

Xun Biao, general manager of Kunshan Rani Institute Co of the Kunshan Industrial Technology Research Institute, won the Mayor's Award for innovation and entrepreneurship.

Kunshan Huaheng Welding Co won second place in the Technological Invention Award thanks to its “automatic rail guided vehicle (RGV)” project. Other awards were presented to seven enterprises for technological progress in scientific projects, including a second-place prize and six third-place prizes.

The Suzhou Scientific and Technological Awards recognize outstanding accomplishments in science and technology innovation, invention, cooperation and technology. A total of 127 institutions and individuals received awards.
