A mobilization meeting for the 2014 China (Kunshan) Import Expo (CIE) opened on Jan 8.

Shen Xiaoming, vice-mayor of Kunshan, presided over the meeting. Officials from different sectors in charge of the CIE attended the meeting.

The meeting identified different areas of focus in preparation for the CIE. According to the meeting, each of the city's districts and towns were required to send CIE invitations to Global 500 companies within their jurisdictions after on-site visits.

Organizers will encourage major enterprises in the city to participate in the expo. Emerging technologies enterprises involving 3D printing and 3D imaging will be invited as a highlight of the CIE.

The third CIE will take place at dual venues, the Kunshan Convention and Exhibition Center and Huaqiao International Expo Center, from May 14 to 17. Apart from the exhibition, forums themed on importation will also be carried out at the same time.
