The green school system in Huaqiao International Service Business Park was recently improved with the establishment of green school programs in Xugongqiao Primary School, Tianfu Kindergarten, Zhoujing Kindergarten and Jishan Primary School.

The green school program involves two major parts: construction of infrastructure and operation and maintenance.

The infrastructure construction for Xugongqiao Primary School, Tianfu Kindergarten, Zhoujing Kindergarten and Jishan Primary School is currently underway with a focus on school hardware facilities featuring conservation of land, energy, water and building materials as well as environmental protection.

Two goals have been set for construction. First, buildings in the schools shall meet the basic standards of green architecture. Convenience for students, teachers, parents and visitors shall be ensured through rational planning. Second, the school shall operate in a manner that conserves energy, such as using solar energy to supply hot water for daily use and for the canteen, and collecting rainwater and reclaimed water in the municipal administration system to effectively save urban water resources.
