The 2013 Mid-Autumn Festival garden party ended on Sept 15 in Huaqiao. Co-sponsored by the Huaqiao branch of the Kunshan Taiwan Business Association (KSTBA) and the Taiwan investment service office of Huaqiao, the party promoted communication and cooperation between Taiwan and local businesspeople.
During the opening ceremony of the garden party on Sept 14, Wang Xiaodong, head of the Taiwan investment service office of Huaqiao, and Hong Jinchang, president of the Huaqiao branch of the KSTBA, congratulated the garden party and welcomed its guests.
The garden party used Mid-Autumn Festival, a cultural tie firmly linking Taiwan and the Chinese mainland, to demonstrate cross-Straits folk creative activities and customs from Taiwan and Huaqiao, promoting the idea of a "second hometown" for Taiwan business people.
The two-day event featured the traditional folk songs and dances of Taiwan as well as local art forms, winning applause from visitors. The garden party’s fun game area, Taiwan snacks area and karaoke area also attracted many tourists.
