A joint groundbreaking ceremony was held in Dianshanhu town, Suzhou city, on Feb 17 to mark the start of the city’s major projects. A Huaqiao delegation consisting of 30 businessmen and six institutions and enterprises – including the China Academy of Science and Technology Development, East China Kangqiao International School and Wicresoft – attended the ceremony.

Huaqiao is scheduled to start 44 projects in 2013 with an investment of more than 5.4 billion yuan ($86.5 million).

Huaqiao’s projects cover functional construction of office buildings, business facilities and schools as well as industrial enterprise incubation bases and software delivery centers.
