Qiaoyuan Park passed expert assessment by the Jiangsu Provincial Forestry Administration on Aug 22 and became the first provincial wetland park in Kunshan, Jiangsu province.
Qiaoyuan Park, part of Tianfu district’s wetland ecological restoration functional zone, makes full use of wetland, preserves native species and introduces aquatic plants for purification. The park also utilizes green wind and solar energy. As a result, its construction has restored local wetland ecology, promoted biodiversity and achieved ecological effects, serving as an excellent start for the entire restoration of Tianfu district.
Tianfu district, occupying an area of 8 square kilometers, has an untouched natural environment with rivers, fertile farmlands and trees. Residents here maintain the traditional lifestyle of the Jiangnan Water Village. Ancient bridges and streets are well-preserved to conserve Tianfu district’s thousand-year history.
Qiaoyuan Park’s upgrade has confirmed Tianfu district’s comprehensive plan and laid a solid foundation for the Tianfu ecological wetland park. It has also promoted Huaqiao’s goal to create a new livable area combining technology, ecology and culture.
