Decathlon, a leading French retailer of sports goods, opened a ”green” shopping mall in Huaqiao International Service Business Park, the first of its kind in China. The mall, known as NANO, is constructed from recyclable metal materials. The construction units are adjustable and utilize natural light for illumination. Shen Huafei, Deputy Director of the management committee of Huaqiao, attended the opening ceremony.
Decathlon is a global enterprise that specializes in designing, producing and selling sports goods. It has established over 500 chain stores in 15 nations in addition to factories in 16 nations. Committed to providing the best sports goods, Decathlon’s products cover 60 sports, including climbing, skiing, cycling, roller-skating, running, swimming, golf, fitness, fishing, riding, basketball, football, badminton and tennis. In Decathlon stores, salespeople offer professional suggestions and help to customers.
The logistics distribution center of Decathlon China was built in Huaqiao in 2007 and came into use in Feb. 2010. By locating near the logistics warehouse, NANO is able to distribute goods without vehicles, which saves energy and reduces carbon emissions.
