The third Kunshan Electrical and Electronic Expo (Kunshan Expo) kicked off in the International Exhibition Hall of Huaqiao International Service Business Park, which was organized by the Kunshan government and the Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association.
The expo has attracted over 500 electronic and electrical manufacturers from the Chinese mainland and the island of Taiwan. Over 1,200 booths have been set up in the exhibition area covering 40,000 square meters.
Against the global backdrop of energy conservation and emissions reductions, the exhibition has demonstrated the impact of information technology to promote low-carbon industry and city. Themed on the "smart life, green manufacturing and trend leading," the expo has combined industrial advantages of the Chinese mainland and Taiwan. The Expo was divided into exhibition areas: intelligence life and cloud application, automation and test devices, trends in consumer electronics and electronic components. Seven theme halls will be included: the Taiwan Green Food Hall, Auto Electronics Hall, Taiwan Software Information Hall, Cloud and Environmental Control Hall, Taipei Science and Technology Museum, Intelligent Life Experience Museum, and Kunshan Enterprises Achievements Hall.
Organizers will arrange forums for industrial representatives to share their insights on the current situation and future developments of global industries.
Featured by its global expertise, the expo has won wide acclaim and has been regarded as one of the most influential exhibitions for the Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai area, which attracted numerous foreign corporations.
Kunshan, one of the top cities to receive Taiwanese investments, has expanded into high-tech and emerging industries. Cooperation between Kunshan and Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association, which has more than 3,604 member enterprises, stands as a "combination of giants." They have held two sessions of Kunshan Expos in 2010 and 2011.
With favorable timing, location and human resources, this year's expo would promote cross-Straits communications.
