On Feb 2, a delegation led by Ren Xueyuan, a high-level Kunshan municipal Party official, inspected the construction of the Cross-Straits (Kunshan) Trade Cooperation Zone in the Huaqiao International Service Business Park.
During the survey, the survey group listened to the report on the construction of the Cross-Straits (Kunshan) Trade Cooperation Zone. The group took inventory of the achievements of the zone and made a detailed assessment of its plans, construction progress, organization and leadership.
The delegation also reviewed the area’s application to become a national-level cooperation zone and said they would carry out the construction of the zone in a timely and efficient manner with support from the Kunshan People’s Congress.
The planned area of the Cross-Straits (Kunshan) Trade Cooperation Zone is 4.4 square kilometers. It is envisioned that the area will become a modern trade zone integrating business office space with a platform for the centralized purchase, wholesale and retail sale, exhibition, and display of goods from Taiwan.
After completion in 2015, the zone will be able to process 30,000 persons passing through for business on a daily basis as well as handle an annual trade volume of 50 billion yuan and 10 billion dollars worth of imports and exports.
