Faced with global warming and the lack of renewable energy such as fuels and gas, the world has reached a consensus on the necessity of fostering a low carbon city. Huaqiao aims to build a picturesque city, leading green energy construction in the near future.

Huaqiao issued a white paper outlining the construction of this city at the 7th International Conference on Green and Energy-efficient Building in Beijing, March 28. The paper concentrates on building a city of low carbon complex and green energy consumption, which includes green energy use, green energy traffic, and energy-efficient construction, leading Huaqiao into a bright future.

The paper consists of seven chapters that include a general outline, plans and supporting charts. Energy use, waste disposal and methods of low carbon living have also been included. Huaqiao will continue to promote the development of its new industry and the construction of the new city.
