Li Xiuchang, deputy director of Kunshan people's congress and other government officials, took an inspection tour of Huaqiao and conducted a study on the Huaqiao Commercial Cooperation Zone, concentrating on its development mode, functions and the operating mechanism.

Shen Huafei, deputy director of the Huaqiao Commercial Cooperation Zone, greeted the visiting group and briefed them on the basics of the area. He remarked that the communications and cooperation across the Straits would be enhanced and deepened due to the construction of this cooperation zone.

During the study, many questions and concerns were raised and carried to further discussion. Shen Huafei said the Huaqiao government would wholeheartedly support and assist the construction of the Huaqiao Commercial Cooperation Zone. Li Xiuchang demanded that all sections concerned devote themselves wholly to the task of ensuring the success of this project.
