Yesterday over 3,500 people planted trees to welcome the coming of Tree-planting Day, which falls on March 12, in Huaqiao International Service Business Park.

More than 2,500 trees were planted in seven venues, arranged by the managing committee of Huaqiao Economic Development Zone, the organizer of the activity.

Zhang Guohua, Party Secretary of Kunshan, and Guan Aiguo, Mayor of Kunshan, also took part in the activity together with other officials.

The tree-planting activity folded the page for Huaqiao’s forestation in 2010. This year, Huaqiao plans to turn another 1.5 million square meters into greenery. Three large-scaled parks are under construction, and a vast patch of land for ecological zone is being built.
