Huaqiao development officials are welcoming new investments from Taiwan investors, Ren Xueyuan, director of the managing committee of the Huaqiao Economic Development Zone, said.

Ren was invited to address the first session of the 9th Standing Committee of the Kunshan Association of Taiwan Investors on Jan 11 at the Huaqiao Hilton Hotel.

“Kunshan and Taiwan investors have cooperated happily in industrial and agricultural fields and achieved a win-win situation. Based on this, Kunshan has entered the third economic phase – cooperation in the modern service industry,” Ren said.

He described such Huaqiao’s advantages as its location, transportation, infrastructure, business-friendly policies and industrial aggregation for future investors.

As a hub for Taiwan businessmen on the mainland, Jiangsu province’s Kunshan is building a Cross-Straits (Kunshan) Commerce and Trade Cooperation Zone to provide the first platform for Taiwan commodities on the mainland in a bid to deepen cross-Straits business ties, Ren said.
