Huaqiao was urged to communicate and cooperate with Shanghai in order for their mutual development said Yang Guoqiang Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce this Tuesday.

Yang spoke highly of Huaqiao’s rapid and great progress over the past years while expressing Shanghai’s concerns over Huaqiao’s development model and methods.

Together with Yang, 44 other officials from the municipal government also visited Huaqiao International Service Business Park for an investigation into Huaqiao’s development.

Tang Naixin, Vice Director of the Managing Committee of Huaqiao Economic Development Zone, briefed them on Huaqiao’s development since its founding three years ago. Tang attributed the achievements to Huaqiao’s geographical advantage. He also asked the officials for comment on Huaqiao’s position and development plans, especially on the construction of the Shanghai Financial Center, which is being built at Huaqiao.
