Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) signed a cooperative memorandum with Kunshan on May 14, to promote cross-strait economic cooperation in collaboration with Huaqiao Internet Service Park, and to set up a logistics center of Taiwan products.

Many well-known computer brands of Taiwan have set up factories in Kunshan, such as Asus, Quanta and Compal. Wang Zhigang, the president of Taipei World Trade Center and TAITRA, explained. He added that it was the outstanding geographical advantages of Kunshan that make it one of the first choice cities in mainland China for Taiwanese investors.

The projects in the promotion include wholesale marketing and logistics, research and design, economic cooperation, and telecom service, businesses Taiwanese traders seek to engage while in Mainland China.
