Xie Fuzhan, deputy secretary of the provincial Party committee and governor of Henan province, led a governmental delegation to participate in Henan-Hong Kong economics and trade cooperation and communication activities in Hong Kong from June 3 to June 8. The delegation brought 15 Ru porcelain works as gifts, attracting broad attention for their delicate appearance and exquisite firing technique.

Henan Hongbao Ru Porcelain Co, the producer of the 15 Ru porcelain works, is located in Ruzhou. Hongbao has integrated both culture and exquisite techniques into its development strategy. It has grown into a leading company in the Ru porcelain industry, reaching large scale production and business operations in only 20 years, said Wang Zhenfang, an inheritor and master of Ru porcelain and the technical director of Hongbao.

Masterpieces from Hongbao, including the Zhonghua Heping vase, which took two years to make, have enjoyed great popularity as a symbol of Chinese central plains culture. The piece is known for its smooth curves, elegant shape and ingenious design. Hongbao’s other work, named Quanqiufu (Global Happiness), was chosen as a national present at the Shanghai Expo.

Regarding the further development of Ru porcelain, Wang said, “The work may have a price yet the skill does not.” Their aim is to transform Hongbao Ruyao into a famous global brand and promote Chinese culture to the world.
