Ruzhou Yifu Elementary School held a memorial service on Jan 8 for Sir Run Run Shaw - or Shao Yifu, the Hong Kong media mogul and philanthropist who died aged 107 on Tuesday.

Sir Run Run Shaw donated more than HK$ 10 billion ($1.29 billion) to support education and healthcare on the Chinese mainland. There are 30,000 buildings named after him around the country - including Ruzhou Yifu Elementary School, which was established in 1997 following a donation of HK$ 500,000 from Run Run Shaw.
