Ruzhou's streetlight management office has been vigorously pushing forward a city green lights program since last year, encouraging environmentally friendly development. The saved electricity over the past year has totaled over 500,000 kilowatt-hours.

As a result of the program, the Ruzhou streetlight management office has installed smart energy-saving units on streetlights; begun using green and safe LED energy-saving bulbs and solar energy streetlights; upheld operations by focusing on streetlight maintenance; and adjusted light on and off times.
