Plans to build a Ruzhou Spring Medical Tourism Center were approved at the Cross-Straits Medical Tourism Forum co-hosted by Henan provincial government, Ruzhou government and Shanghai Bo Yi Group on April 1, 2011.
Medical tourism (also called medical travel or health tourism) is a term originally coined by travel agencies and the media to describe the rapidly-growing practice of traveling across international borders to obtain health care. This is the first center in China to combine entertainment with medical treatment.
The Bo Yi Group has slated an initial 3.86 billion yuan investment to finish this pioneering project in two years. Ruzhou has unique geothermal resources; characterized by its good water quality, stable flow, high temperature and rich microelements, Ruzhou’s hot spring spa ranked first in the country during the Han and Tang dynasties, on par with the Vichy Royal Hot Spring of France.
The Center consists of ten parts: the entrance, the operational department of Bo Yi Group, the promenade, the Bo Yi Comprehensive Medical Institute, Bo Yi International Medical Service Center, the Bo Yi Super Five-Star Hot Spring Accommodation, Bo Yi five-star Luxurious Hotel, Bo Yi Eco-Shopping Center, Commodity House, and a villa.
