Ruzhou city, on July 17, was nominated by the Chinese Culture Promotion Society as a “Chinese Culture International Tourism Destination” at the 2010 China Tourism Culture International Promotion Conference held in the Shanghai Expo Garden. Guo Jie, deputy mayor of the People’s Government of Ruzhou, attended the award ceremony.
The city has attached tremendous importance to the development of tourism in recent years, and has enhanced the tourism-related functions of the city and upgraded the environment for the tourism development. It has spared no efforts in launching a golden travel line: Fengxue Temple—Strange Slope—Confucian shrine.
Apparently Ruzhou had received 922,000 tourists in the first half of this year, up by 15.1%, as compared with the same period of last year. Direct tourism income grew by 27% year-on-year to 54.809 million yuan, hitting a historical new high.
