A special performance was held at Ruzhou Theatre to celebrate the 2nd China Quju Opera Art Festival in the evening of Sept 6.

Before the performance officially started, Ma Qi, an 89-year-old Quju Opera artist and winner of lifetime award at the first session of Henan Quju Opera Art Festival; Yang Shuaixue, vice-chairman of Henan provincial drama association, and Fang Suzhen, national first-level actress from Henan provincial Quju opera troupe and the first China Drama Plum Blossom Prize winner for Quju opera, put on splendid performances for Quju Opera lovers.

Artists of Luoyang Quju Opera Troupe performed Kouzhun with Boots on His Back, a classic ancient costume drama. With resonant singing and graceful postures, the opera led audiences back to war-ridden days. During the whole performance, the audiences laughed heartedly. The applauses continued for a long time after the show ended.
