Yaoshan Mountain was approved as one of the 5A tourism attractions in Henan province by the National Tourism Administration in May.

Yaoshan (also called Shirenshan) is located at the west of Lushan County of Pingdingshan, Henan province. It was named “Mount Yao” by the ancient inhabitants after the Memorial Temple of Emperor Yao (2377 BC—2259BC), a legendary monarch in ancient China.

Yaoshan Mountain is an ideal place for sightseeing, summer holidays, health-restoring, and scientific research. However, the three most impressive experiences in the Yaoshan Mountain are appreciating the mountain, worshiping the Buddha, and enjoying hot springs. In 2010, 1,890,000 people came to Yaoshan Mountian, realizing RMB 520 million of tourism revenue.
